Shruti (Revealed)
Direct revelations received by ancient rishis in deep meditation. Includes the Vedas and Upanishads - considered eternal and infallible.
Smriti (Remembered)
Texts composed by sages to make Vedic wisdom accessible. Includes Puranas, Itihasas (epics), and Dharma Shastras.
